While the summer heat continues to blaze over Florida, preparations are in full swing for the start of the 2023-2024 school year at the Academies of RCMA, and for the first time, a third academy is being added to the list.
August 9 is the first day of classes for Immokalee Community Academy, Wimauma Community Academy, and the brand-new Mulberry Community Academy. MCA is a pioneering charter school dedicated to providing quality education to kindergarten and first-grade students from migrant farmworker families. With a focus on inclusivity, bilingualism, and community engagement, MCA aims to empower young learners with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive academically and beyond.
MCA is located in the heart of Mulberry, Florida, a strategic location chosen to cater to the needs of migrant families in the region. The site continues to be home to the Mulberry Child Development Center, a preschool, and an infant care facility. The charter school will begin operation with kindergarten and first grade classes, and continue to add grades as the current students move up. The facilities have been designed to foster a stimulating learning environment, vibrant classrooms, and spacious play areas to encourage physical activity and imaginative play.
As the inaugural school year approaches, MCA is already generating tremendous excitement within the community. Enrollment is still open for first grade, and a waiting list is still available for kindergarten. Parents of prospective students are encouraged to contact the school at (863) 425-9244. Be sure to follow RCMA’s social media sites for the latest updates.
