IMMOKALEE (Oct. 4, 2019) – United Way of Collier County earlier this year awarded Redlands Christian Migrant Association (RCMA) a $40,000 grant in support of the non-profit organization’s early childhood education programs and its charter school’s afterschool program in Immokalee, FL.  This funding helps ensure that nearly 1,000 children as young as 6 weeks old and students up to 6th grade learn and develop in a safe and enriching environment.

“I am grateful for United Way of Collier County and the collective sectors it represents,” Isabel Garcia, executive director of RCMA, said. “They have been a valuable partner with RCMA for more than 15 years.  Their consistent partnership translates into life changing support for thousands of our children.”

RCMA provides holistic care to the children of migrant, agricultural working families and other low income families. The United Way funding specifically supports school readiness, academic success and health programs offered year round. These include academic skill-building support in reading and math as well as enrichment and social emotional learning activities.
